About Us
Before every Journey there is a Nest
Every meaningful change begins with a pause.
A moment when life feels uncertain. When anxiety grows louder, motivation fades, or identity feels harder to define, especially when living far from home.
Willing Nest Clinic was created from this understanding.
We are Alexandra and Raul, clinical psychologists (COPSI) and psychotherapists (COPSI) who have worked closely with people navigating anxiety, depression, overthinking, emotional burnout and major life transitions. Over time, one pattern became clear: many of those struggles are intensified when you live internationally.
New cultures bring opportunity and growth, but also loneliness, pressure, identity shifts, and a subtle feeling of being “between worlds.” We saw how difficult it can be to find psychological support that truly understands this complexity.
This is why we built Willing Nest, a digital psychotherapy clinic designed to offer clarity, safety and real tools for emotional change, wherever you are in the world.
Why we Created a Digital Therapy Clinic
Mental Health Support Should Not Depend on Geography
For many expats, immigrants, and international professionals, access to therapy can be limited by language barriers, cultural differences or long waiting lists. Others simply need flexibility that traditional clinics cannot offer.
We wanted to create a space that travels with you.
Through online therapy sessions, structured psychological courses and free mental health resources, Willing Nest Clinic allows you to receive professional support in English or Romanian — whether you live in the Netherlands, another European country, or across continents.
Our physical presence in Maastricht complements this vision, offering in-person therapy for those who prefer face-to-face connection while maintaining the accessibility of a fully digital clinic.
Our Therapeutic Approach
We do not believe anxiety or depression can be reduced to simple labels. Emotional struggles are shaped by personal history, relationships, cultural context, lifestyle and the meaning people assign to their experiences.
Our work focuses on understanding the full picture.
We use evidence-based psychotherapy methods including:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Schema Therapy
These approaches help clients understand patterns of thinking, emotional reactions and behavioural cycles while building practical skills for resilience, self-compassion and value-driven action.
Therapy with us is collaborative. You are not “treated”, you are guided, supported and empowered to become an active participant in your own change process.
Who We Work With
Living abroad often brings invisible psychological pressure. Clients come to us with experiences such as:
persistent anxiety and overthinking
depressive moods and loss of motivation
loneliness and difficulty building belonging
identity confusion or cultural adjustment stress
relationship challenges influenced by relocation
major life or career transitions
We also work with individuals who are not living abroad but resonate with these themes of uncertainty, change and emotional overwhelm.

The Nest Is Only the Beginning
You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy.
Sometimes the first step is simply finding a space where you can slow down, reconnect with yourself and begin to understand what you truly need.
Willing Nest Clinic exists to be that space, whether you are building a life in a new country, navigating anxiety or depression, or searching for clarity during uncertain times.
Wherever you are in the world, your journey can begin here.
